Its strategic location on a corner plot within the industrial park poses unique challenges while offering opportunities for innovative and functional design. The primary architectural challenges in this project included: 1. Creating an Architectural Identity: Despite the building's primary purpose as storage, there was a need to design an impressive and inviting facade. 2. Integration with the Urban Environment: The design needed to consider the urban context and contribute positively to the streetscape. 3. Complex Traffic Planning: Efficient separation between pedestrian traffic and operational vehicular movement was required.
Facade Design: Cladding the main mass with white Alucobond, softening the building's presence and integrating it with the environment. Incorporation of dark aluminum profiles, adding dynamism and breaking the monotony of the white surface. Functional Planning: The main mass houses the storage space and ancillary uses. Integration of operational outdoor areas: a covered operational yard, an operational terrace, and a dedicated truck ramp. Impressive Entrance: Design of a full-height atrium, creating a striking and welcoming entry experience. Traffic Planning: Clear separation between pedestrian areas and operational vehicular traffic zones, enhancing safety and operational efficiency.
The project demonstrates how thoughtful architectural planning can combine industrial functionality with urban aesthetics while addressing complex logistical needs. The result is a building that not only meets operational requirements but also contributes to the urban landscape and creates a pleasant and efficient work environment.
