About the Project
This was the design concept used in the planning of the offices of law firm: Gindes, Goldblatt, Yariv (GGY). Located on the 29th floor of a Tel Aviv office tower, the quiet spaces were conceived amid Corona lockdown, when it seemed as if the entire world stood still.
It was generally considered at this time that super-temporary spaces represented the perfect solution to the challenges posed by Covid-19. We believe this thoughtless trend itself is a type of virus – it spreads virally and after a while, disappears. After its disappearance it leaves behind Smell of old-fashioned decor.
It turns out that “Timeless design turns out to be the perfect “vaccine”. The initial effort is at first higher, but once vaccinated one enjoys “quiet” for a long time.
The application of the aesthetic values of timeless design was part of the planning concept of GGY offices. The two clear objects that define the space are the two meeting rooms and a corner in the kitchen and each of them is designed using an independent set of rules. Each is set against a neutral background that does not interfere with the design but strengthens and supports it.
Such architecture concentrates effort on a few points and only on them. Will space stand fairly on its own in years to come? Only time will tell.
